People who knew him have suggested that he had an ongoing battle with depression that led him to commit suicide in 1994 at the age of 49 It's sad that he makes so few of these lists.

Pretty much the same resume and "Greatest Unknown" tag for Roy Buchanan. also suicide at 48.
