Anybody got any information on how to get a lefty Jazzy?

I had a quick glance at the Fender custom shop list. My "ideal" specs work out at about £5000

Through Warmoth it's closer to £700...

But yeah, Warmoth would be a cool option, could get whatever you wanted pretty much. In the UK I hear Marty Siggery's prices are very reasonable if you wanted to go the custom route.

I suppose when it comes round to it I'll probably go with Warmoth. I have a very specific idea of what I'd be looking for, wouldn't want to get an inevitably vintage Jazzy only to modify it beyond recognition...

Of course, if Squier were to produce one that would solve lots of problems.

Here is what I had in mind...


Body and hardware works out at $776
Neck with (matching) gold coloured fret wire is $342
Total $1118, or £705 for us Brits.

I saw this and started wondering if I'd prefer a maple or rosewood board. As usual I got carried away in Photoshop. There's something about the maple and gold that I like Probably just because I like brighter guitars.

They both look beautiful to me. The maple would definitely break up the colours a bit, would be really nice with an aged finish

Only realised today that Squier already produce these for an entirely reasonable £250.
Shame they have neglected the lefties with that one as all I'd need to do is get replacement gold hardware and fit a TOM/SB... I could even live with that random looking Strat socket

All these guitars look odd to me; are the reissues that far away from the originals?

Jazzmasters have three slide switches up where that toggle is, and Jaguars have three more on the other cutaway (and chrome/nickel plating around all the switches & knobs). Plus they both had those funky tremelo tailpieces like Mustangs and Jag-Stangs do.

You're quite right, alas, I've got a Jag with all the switches and nickel plating and the vintage tremolo.
I'm not really a tremolo user and I really like the way stop-bars look, especially on an offset. I suppose I'm basically looking for a Gibson guitar inside a Fender body

They produce quite a range of classic or modified offsets, if you are a righty...
