Hello from liverpool

Postby Black_Hazelnut » Tue Jun 26, 2012 9:10 pm

Hi guys,
I only found this forum the other day in work (probably should've been working)
I've been reading through and drooling at some of the posts, some people have some really awesome guitars.
I started learning guitar when i was at school and never really got any real results. I stopped playing for 20 years or so and decided to take it up again.
I'm currently playing a right-handed hohner lp copy that i've converted.
I've replaced the nut, replaced the tailpiece, drilled the body and reversed the bridge, changed the wiring harness and added a new set of tuners, oh and new pick ups too.
After all that work, i realised that unless i move the tone and vol pots its the most uncomfy thing to play i've ever picked up.
I'm considering a lh strat copy but i'm a still a bit on the fence.

Looking forward to spending many a bored afternoon in work browsing the forums.
Cheers

Welcome :) You know photos of your guitars are mandatory...

I used to spend most of my lunch hour browsing forums as well, they were pretty much the only places the work internet didn't block.

I may have a killer Squier Strat for sale in the next month depending on how things go...just sayin' 8-)

Welcome aboard! I have friends in Aigburth, but haven't been to the 'Pool in years. What are the shops like over there in terms of LH instruments?

Howdy!.... from Baltimore.

Is your LP a bolt on, or set neck?

You might find a salvagable lefty body on e-bay that you can move all your good work over to. ;)

Thanks for the welcome guys, much appreciated.

I'll take a couple of pics and put them up.

Shop-wise it's not so hot. A lot of the independent shops i remember from when i first started learning are gone.
We've got a Dawsons in the city centre and a Dolphin out of town.
I went for a mooch around Dawsons with a friend a couple of months ago, specifically looking for anything LH.
There was nothing, nothing new or used, nothing cheap, nothing expensive, just nothing. :(

Awesome idea about sourcing an LH body, it's a bolt-on. So i could do a transplant and end up with franken-LP.

cheers guys.
