College. The first of four generations to get a degree.

My Great Grandfather never went to college.

My Grandfather never went to college.

My father never went to college.

I went to a 2 year community college.

(bragging mode on)

Meet the first in the line to not only get a 4 year degree, but a 4 year degree from Virgina Tech.... WITH HONORS.

The young lady in the picture is my daughter, and in four weeks will be the proud recipient of a Magna cum Laude degree from a pretty danged prestigious University.

... and if you folks across the pond think the place where the picture was taken looks familiar to you, then you are likely right, and you likely know exactly where it was taken.

That's Guiness Lake, in the Wicklow mountains of Ireland.

She spent last Spring studying in Nantes, France, and a friend of hers was studying in Ireland.
On her return from France she came home through Ireland, and spent a week there.
