ESP is a Japanese manufacturer of guitars, founded in 1975 by Hisatake Shibuya in Tokyo.   In 1996 ESP launched LTD, a new subsidiary brand which offered similar quality to the ESP range but at a more affordable price point.

Last year we gave up trying to find out exactly which guitars ESP/LTD offered left handed after wasting too much time trying to contact their non-existent customer service department.  However this year we were able to obtain a list of guitars from the UK division – huzzah!

LTD currently have ten guitars and basses which are available to buy left handed.  Let’s take a look…

ESP Website

The ESP (USA) website is a complete disaster when it comes to catering for left handed players.  Strangely enough, the AC10E acoustic is the only guitar they’ve actually added as a left handed variant. There is a vague note in the site FAQ about contacting your dealer for further information about lefties – but honestly, you’d think that one of the biggest guitar companies in the world would be able to take ten minutes to put a quick note on the other nine of their product pages.

You might find that they are what’s left from the previous year’s range, or they are part of a limited run that XLG have commissioned. What you see on this page is what LTD offer THIS year as standard – at least that’s what they told me 😉 I appreciate the comment, getting info from ESP themselves is like drawing blood from a stone.

As always, with any rock/metal guitars it is definitely worth taking a look at XLG to see if they have sourced some extra special goodies that aren’t listed here.

I’ll put the link here for anyone else who visits this article later on http://xlguitars.com/
