If you don’t see anything you like or would like to make some crazy personal additions to current models then you may wish to check out the Ran custom shop where you can build the guitar of your dreams.Check out the in-depth custom order form on the Ran website to see what the company can create for you.

Ran Website

In keeping with the company image, the Ran website employs a clean, although dark and mysterious layout. The site is a pleasure to browse through and is full of detailed images and information on each of their models. It’s also great to see a web based form for filling out custom orders rather than the PDF print-out option that many (outdated) companies seem to still utilise.

I had a quick look around a few days ago and the general impression seems to be very favourable. Do a Google search, there's quite a bit of chatter on the SevenStrings.org forum. The only thing that puts me off is the 10-12 month wait time – i'm an impatient motherhubbard. Jeff Waters used to have a Ran signature model – if they're good enough for Jeff they're more than good enough for anyone else.

I absolutely LOVE the look of their Crusher model, and what a fantastic price xD

I like the look of these. I agree the Crusher looks excellent….bit like a handmade Jaden. I also noticed some of them come with LED fret markers which is a bit different. I like to know what they sound like as I've never heard of them before.

The LED side markers are an optional extra on any of the guitars actually. I imagine you could very quickly rack up a huge bill using their custom form :p SIMS down in England charge ~£400 for fretboard inlays on top.
