NEW Left-Handed Epiphone Firebird Wine Red

lefty epiphone firebird wine red

Epiphone has just announced the Inspired by Gibson Firebird in Wine Red, and it’s available left-handed! The Firebird has always been one of the rarest Gibson designs to appear in left-handed form, making this release especially significant for southpaw players.

If you have been waiting for a proper Firebird without compromises or custom shop pricing, this new model is worth serious attention.

A Rare Firebird Release for Left-Handed Players

Epiphone Firebird Left Handed Wine Red

The Firebird is one of Gibson’s most distinctive designs. Originally introduced in 1963 and designed by legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich, it broke away from traditional guitar construction with its reverse body shape, reverse headstock, and neck-through-body design.

Historically, left-handed Firebirds have been extremely limited. Many players have had to rely on flipped right-handed guitars or expensive custom builds. This new left-handed Epiphone Firebird finally changes that and makes the design accessible to more players.

Where to Buy the Left-Handed Epiphone Firebird

Because this is a lefty Epiphone Firebird, availability is expected to be limited. Left-handed Firebird models historically sell through quickly and are not always easy to restock.

So, don’t delay! Grab yours at one of the LeftyFretz-approved stores below before they sell out.

Classic Firebird Construction and Feel

This model stays faithful to the original Firebird formula. It features a traditional 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through-body construction with mahogany body wings for enhanced resonance and sustain.

The SlimTaper C neck profile is comfortable and fast, with a slim, modern feel that suits everything from big rhythm parts to faster lead playing without feeling bulky.

The bound rosewood fingerboard is paired with a 24.75-inch scale length and 22 medium jumbo frets, staying true to classic Firebird specifications.

ProBucker FB720 Firebird Pickups

The Epiphone Firebird Left-handed model is equipped with a pair of ProBucker FB720 Firebird pickups. These pickups are built to original 1960s Firebird specifications and use Alnico 2 magnets for a bright, articulate tone with plenty of clarity.

Firebird pickups are often confused with mini humbuckers, but they are a completely different design. Firebird pickups use blade magnets instead of pole pieces and include a steel reflector plate, giving them a unique voice that sits somewhere between a traditional humbucker and a single coil, while remaining hum-free.

High-quality CTS potentiometers are used to preserve the original Firebird sound and response.

Hardware and Appointments

Epiphone has outfitted this Firebird with reliable, performance-ready hardware. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece provide solid intonation and sustain. Grover Mini Rotomatic six-in-line tuners help keep tuning stable, and a GraphTech nut further improves stability.

Cosmetic details include nickel hardware, gold top hat control knobs with silver reflectors, pearloid trapezoid inlays, and the iconic Firebird logo hot-stamped in red on the pickguard. A premium gig bag is included for easy transport and protection.
