Looking for a left-handed BC Rich? Good news: they exist. The catch is that BC Rich doesn’t make it easy to find out which ones.
BC Rich has been building some of the pointiest guitars on the planet since Bernardo Chavez Rico founded the company in 1969. Mockingbirds, Warlocks, Ironbirds… if it looks like it could double as a medieval weapon, it probably came from BC Rich.
The brand has changed hands more than once since Rico’s death in 1999, and its left-handed lineup has shifted a lot too. This guide covers the lefty models BC Rich currently lists, older lefty models from recent years, the bass situation, and where to actually find one.
Does BC Rich Make Left Handed Guitars?
Yes, but the official range is small. At the time of writing, I could confirm two left-handed guitars on the official BC Rich website:
- Warlock Prophecy with Quad Bridge
- Stealth Legacy Exotic
As for basses, BC Rich doesn’t currently list any left-handed models. If you’re set on a lefty BC Rich bass, the used market is your best bet.
Current BC Rich Left Handed Guitars
These are the two left-handed models listed on the official BC Rich website. Both are neck-through designs with 24 extra jumbo frets, so they’re built with fast, aggressive playing in mind.
Stock comes and goes, so check availability with BC Rich or your local dealer before you get your heart set on one.
BC Rich Warlock Prophecy with Quad Bridge Left Handed

The Warlock is about as BC Rich as it gets, and this Prophecy version is the more affordable of the two current lefty models.
It uses the “Extreme” Warlock shape, which has a deeper cutaway than the original Legacy body, plus a heel-less neck joint, so reaching the 24th fret is easy. The EMG 81 and 60 pairing is a metal classic, and the fixed Quad bridge means no tremolo to fight with if you like switching tunings.
Controls are kept simple: one volume knob and a 3-way switch. That’s it.
- Body : Nyatoh (listed by BC Rich as mahogany)
- Neck : 3-Piece Maple, Neck-Through
- Fingerboard : Indian Ebony (24 Extra Jumbo Frets, No Inlays)
- Scale Length : 25.5″
- Pickups : EMG 81 (Bridge) & EMG 60 (Neck)
- Tuners : Grover Locking
- Bridge : BC Rich Quad
- Made In : Indonesia
Keep in mind that the EMGs are active pickups, so you’ll need to swap out a 9V battery now and then.
Available left handed in Gloss Black and Matte White.
BC Rich Stealth Legacy Exotic Left Handed

The Stealth is the shape Chuck Schuldiner of Death made famous, and this left-handed Exotic version dresses it up with a spalted maple top under a natural finish. Spalted maple is all about the grain, so no two tops look quite the same.
It feels a little different from the Warlock, too. The shorter 24 5/8″ scale means slightly less string tension at the same tuning, and the DiMarzio pickups are passive, so there’s no battery to worry about. The Super X2N in the bridge is a seriously hot pickup, so it’s still very much a metal machine.
As with the Warlock, controls are just one volume knob and a 3-way switch. If you like rolling off the tone knob, you’re bang out of luck here.
- Body : Alder w/ Spalted Maple Top
- Neck : 3-Piece Hard Rock Maple, Neck-Through
- Fingerboard : Ebony (24 Extra Jumbo Frets)
- Scale Length : 24 5/8″
- Pickups : DiMarzio Super X2N (Bridge) & D Activator X (Neck)
- Tuners : Grover Mini Locking
- Bridge : BC Rich Hardtail
- Made In : Korea
Available left handed in a Natural Transparent finish.
Where to Buy a Left Handed BC Rich
The simplest option is to buy straight from the BC Rich website, which sells direct. If you’d rather go through a store, BC Rich has a dealer locator, and it’s worth asking your local dealer whether they can order a lefty in for you.
Lefty specialists are worth a look too. Xtreme Lefty Guitars in Florida carries BC Rich, and you’ll find other lefty-friendly shops in my left-handed guitar store directory.
If you’re after a lefty bass, Reverb and eBay are your best bets. Just check listings carefully, because sellers sometimes label a guitar or bass as left-handed when it isn’t.

BC Rich Website
BC Rich doesn’t have a dedicated left-handed category, and the lefty models don’t always show up when you browse the series pages, so they’re easy to miss. Here are the direct links:
