Grosh : Left Handed Guitars

Grosh Guitars is a premier builder of custom, high-end guitars, basses and pickups and was founded by Don Grosh in 1993.  Every guitar is handcrafted at the Grosh factory in Colorado, USA in order to deliver the ultimate experience in tone, looks and playability.

Rather unusually for a smaller, custom guitar brand they don’t offer too many left handed models, with only four available in total.  Unfortunately I was also told that depending on the model chosen there would be a rather hefty $200-$300 up-charge for a left handed guitar to be made.

Let’s take a look at what’s on offer from this USA brand…

Grosh Set Neck Custom Left Handed Guitar

The Set Neck Custom delivers all those great classic rich, thick and complex tones you’d expect from a set neck guitar with a short scale length and a mahogany/maple body. However, the Grosh offers much more – a truly original design engineered from the ground up to produce an instrument with unmatched balance, feel, tone and playability. Gutsy mids, firms lows and harmonically rich highs with a clarity and openness unlike any other set neck guitar. The Set Neck Custom takes the “LP’ vibe to a whole new level. Featuring master-grade, tone-tapped woods, old-growth Honduran mahogany, AAAAA maple, ultra-thin nitro-lacquer finish and handcrafted Grosh pickups.

From fat and chunk to sparkle, quack and chime, the Retro Classic delivers harmonically rich tones with an ease of playability that is simply unmatched. Grosh Electra Jet Lefty Guitar

This truly original and innovative new design combines the classic, vintage styling for which Grosh Guitars is known with modern flare and edge. The ElectraJet exudes classic vintage tones with a slightly heavier and thicker voice compared to the Retro Classic. Arguably Grosh’s most versatile instrument depending on pickup configuration … from jazz to rock to funk to blues to “heavy”, it can cover a lot of ground. And like all Grosh guitars, it retains that beautifully complex harmonic clarity and full acoustic voice. The ElectraJet feels completely natural, ergonomic and balanced, and it plays like a dream. Featuring master-grade, tone-tapped woods, ultra-thin nitro-lacquer finish and handcrafted Grosh pickups.

Grosh Guitars Website

The Grosh Guitars website is still under construction, so it would be a little unfair to critique an unfinished product!  At this moment in time there is no way of telling which guitars are available left handed, and as such I had to contact Grosh myself to find out this information.  Hopefully this guidance will be included in the FAQ page once completed.
