Vigier : Left Handed Guitars

Vigier is a French manufacturer of electric guitars and basses and was founded in 1978 by Patrice Vigier.  The company is well known for their innovative carbon reinforced neck design which is composed of 10% carbon fibre and 90% wood.  These 10/90 necks made Vigier world renowned for their superior sustain and stability. They are also famed for being very lightweight guitars with most weighing in at a mere 3kg!

Vigier used to offer a few more guitars left handed but unfortunately at present there are only two models to choose from – the Excalibur Special, and Excalibur Indus.  You probably won’t see too many left handed Vigier guitars in stores, and as a result they will need to be special ordered.  Each guitar comes in a variety of different finishes, and each finish comes with the option of a maple or rosewood fingerboard.

Vigier Website

The Vigier website is one of those websites that seems to be stuck in a time-warp – it’s quite clunky to navigate, and despite this being a high-end company, the photography is very lacklustre and almost off-putting. Don’t let this put you off however – the guitars are absolutely stunning when up close and personal. I had the pleasure of trying a couple out myself – these are absolutely top drawer guitars.

There is no left handed section, however the FAQ does mention which left handed Vigier guitars are available.  Other than that, we have to browse the entire range to discover the two available models – not ideal!
