Alexander James Left Handed Guitars & Basses

Alexander James started building guitars in 2002, and after 7 years of honing his skills decided to open his own custom shop in Ontario, Canada. All guitars are handmade and utilise premium materials in order to create some of the finest sounding and best looking guitars around.

All Alexander James guitars are available to order left handed, and according to the website the build time should run you roughly 6-8 months.

The eight models listed below are purely examples of the various guitars offered by the company. Keep in mind that this is a custom guitar company, so each model below can be specced to your exacting requirements. I’ve included a very brief description of the particular guitars shown. Xylon
The Xylon is the company’s most popular model and also features a shorter 24.625″ scale length. The image above shows a Xylon with curly maple and bloodwood body combined with a curly maple/bloodwood neck and curly maple fretboard.

Ursa
This striking looking guitar features a curly macassar ebony and curly maple body coupled with a macassar ebony neck and fingerboard. It also features a shorter 24.625″ scale length.

Ora
The Ora displayed features a ziricote and bubinga body combined with a ziricote neck and ebony fingerboard. Seymour Duncan pickups complete this high end beauty.

Nira
New for 2013, the Nira hollowbody features a Curly Walnut top and back combined with mahogany body wings. It also offers a mahogany neck with 12 inch radius ebony fretboard with 22 Evo Gold frets.

Laurent
This guitar features a striking looking wenge body with a bright yellowheart top. A colorful 22 fret 3-piece bloodwood and yellowheart neck is coupled with an ebony fingerboard.

Dios
The Dios is the company’s semi-hollow body offering and features a slightly shorter than usual 24.625″ scale length. The model displayed features an exotic ebony and yellowheart body, coupled with a yellowheart neck and ebony fingerboard.

Jazz Tribute Bass
This Jazz Tribute bass model comprises a swamp ash body coupled with a birds eye maple neck and ebony fingerboard. High quality Kent Armstrong pickups complete the package.

Teraux Bass
The Teraux is the first of two bass guitars from Alexander James. This 34″ scale length stunner features a padauk body and neck combined with an ebony fretboard.

The company website uses an elegant, clean design and features plenty of high quality images of each guitar. One of the first things mentioned on the ‘information’ page is that all of the guitars are available to order left handed, which is great to see – in fact, the current image on the page shows one of the company’s left handed builds!
