Epiphone Limited Edition Lefties. Last time we heard those four words it was for the much requested Casino – a guitar which was insanely popular amongst the southpaw community. Now it would seem that it’s time for another limited edition left handed Epiphone…
Epiphone has been dropping hints about this guitar for a while now on their various social media channels. The guitar has now finally been unveiled at MusikMesse this month as the new Tony Iommi SG Custom!
Epiphone Tony Iommi SG Custom Limited Edition Left Handed Guitar
- Mahogany Body
- Mahogany Neck with 60s Slim Taper D Profile
- Ebony Fingerboard with White Binding
- Pearloid Cross Inlays
- Graphite Nut
- Gloss Ebony Finish
- Gibson Tony Iommi Signature Humbuckers
This guitar is obviously very similar to Tony’s first signature Epiphone. The main differences seem to be swapping the rosewood fingerboard for ebony and extending the cross inlays all the way down the neck. The input jack also looks to have been relocated from the front of the guitar to the side. Tony’s signature now also appears on the back of the headstock rather than the front.
Production will be limited to 2000 guitars – how many of which will be left handed I do not know. Each guitar will come with a hand-signed certificate, along with a binder and photograph of Tony. A hard case is an optional extra.
The guitar is expected to be released this summer.
